    What causes this issue?

    This error may arise from a number of causes:
    To establish a connection between CRM and the RFC Gateway, an RFC
    destination (table RFCDES; transaction SM59) was used. Check which RFC
    destination is entered in table CRMC_EXT_SERVER for the connection you
    require, then use transaction SM59 to check whether this RFC
    destination is actually maintained and that the details there are
    correct.
    It may be that the RFC Gateway was not started on the Windows machine,
    or that the Windows machine cannot be reached from the CRM server via
    the network. Contact the administrator responsible for the Windows
    machine.
