Message text: No conversion of header quantity into production unit
When the order header quantity was converted from the base unit of
measure to the production unit, it produced a value of 0.
The problem occurred in planned order &V1& with header material &V2&.
The conversion of base unit of measure &V3& to production unit &V4&
caused the problem.
To prevent an order quantity of 0, the production order will be created
using the base unit of measure (stockkeeping unit).
You have the following options:
In Customizing reduce the number of decimal places for production unit
&V4& to 3 or less. This will cause the quantity to be rounded to a
value greater or less than 0.
In the production order change the header unit manually to the same as
the production unit. You will then have to enter a quantity of your
choice.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

- No conversion of header quantity into production unit ?The SAP error message CO838 ("No conversion of header quantity into production unit") typically occurs in the context of production orders or process orders when there is an issue with the conversion of quantities between different units of measure. This can happen in various scenarios, such as when trying to confirm production or when processing a production order.
Cause:
- Unit of Measure (UoM) Configuration: The error often arises when the system cannot find a valid conversion factor between the header quantity's unit of measure and the production unit of measure defined in the material master or the order.
- Missing Conversion Factors: If the necessary conversion factors are not defined in the material master for the relevant units of measure, the system will not be able to convert the quantities.
- Incorrect Settings in Material Master: The material master may have incorrect or incomplete settings regarding units of measure.
- Order Type Issues: The order type may not be configured correctly to handle the conversion of units.
Solution:
Check Material Master:
- Go to the material master (transaction code MM03) and check the units of measure tab.
- Ensure that the base unit of measure and the alternative units of measure are correctly defined and that conversion factors exist.
Define Conversion Factors:
- If conversion factors are missing, you can define them in the material master under the "Units of Measure" section.
- Ensure that the conversion factors are accurate and reflect the correct relationship between the units.
Review Production Order Settings:
- Check the production order (transaction code CO02) to ensure that the header quantity and the production unit of measure are correctly set.
- Verify that the order type is configured to allow for the necessary conversions.
Check Customizing Settings:
- If necessary, review the customizing settings for units of measure in the SAP system (transaction code SPRO).
- Navigate to the relevant sections under "Logistics" and "Material Management" to ensure that the settings are appropriate for your business processes.
Consult Documentation:
- Review SAP documentation or help resources for additional guidance on handling unit of measure conversions.
Testing:
- After making changes, test the process again to ensure that the error is resolved.
