- Not enough batch processes. Change operating mode of actual server ?The SAP error message CNVA_00555_MSG080 indicates that there are not enough batch processes available to handle the workload on the server. This can occur in various scenarios, particularly during data processing or when executing background jobs that require more resources than are currently allocated.
Cause:
- Insufficient Batch Processes: The number of batch processes configured in the SAP system is lower than what is required for the current workload.
- System Configuration: The server may not be configured to handle the expected number of concurrent batch jobs.
- Resource Limitations: The server may be experiencing resource constraints (CPU, memory, etc.) that limit the number of batch processes that can run simultaneously.
- Operating Mode: The server may be running in a mode that restricts the number of batch processes (e.g., a limited mode for testing or development).
Solution:
Increase Batch Process Configuration:
- Go to the SAP system profile parameters and increase the number of batch processes. This can be done in transaction RZ10 or through the instance profile.
- Look for the parameter
rdisp/batch
and increase its value to allow more batch processes.Change Operating Mode:
- If the server is running in a limited mode, consider changing it to a more appropriate mode that allows for more batch processing. This can be done in transaction RZ04 or through the system configuration settings.
Monitor System Resources:
- Use transaction SM50 or SM66 to monitor the current batch jobs and system load. Check if there are any long-running jobs that can be optimized or terminated.
- Ensure that the server has adequate resources (CPU, memory) to handle the increased number of batch processes.
Review Job Scheduling:
- Review the job scheduling in transaction SM37 to identify any jobs that may be causing bottlenecks. Reschedule jobs to off-peak hours if necessary.
Consult SAP Notes:
- Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may provide additional guidance or patches related to this error message.
Related Information:
