  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

<DS:TX.CNV_MBT_IMPLICIT_MERGE>Implicit merges</> due to mapping of
    credit control areas.
If according to the mapping a credit control area is converted to a
credit control area that already exists, these two credit control areas
are merged. If the existing credit control area is not included in the
mapping, this is an <DS:TX.CNV_MBT_IMPLICIT_MERGE>implicit merge</>,
that is, a merge that is not defined directly (explicitly) in the
mapping, but follows implicitly from the mapping and the existing credit
    control area.
Example: Credit control area A is renamed into B (mapping: A -> B).
However credit control area B exists already and is not meant to be
changed into another credit control area. This would amount to an
implicit merge of A and B. For these implicit merges, the same checks as
    for explicit merges are required (mapping: A -> B; B -> B).
We require that all credit control areas are included in the mapping,
which are part of an identified implicit merge.

The SAP error message CNV_20212_CHECK054 typically arises during data migration processes, particularly when using the SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit or similar tools. This error indicates that there are implicit merges occurring due to the mapping of credit control areas, which can lead to data inconsistencies or conflicts.

    Cause:

The error is generally caused by the following factors:

    1. Credit Control Area Mapping: When migrating data, if multiple customer or vendor records are mapped to the same credit control area, it can lead to implicit merges. This means that the system is trying to combine records that should remain distinct, which can cause issues in financial reporting and credit management.

    Solution:

To resolve the CNV_20212_CHECK054 error, consider the following steps:

    1. Review Mapping: Check the mapping of credit control areas in your migration project. Ensure that each customer or vendor is mapped to the correct and unique credit control area.

    2. Data Cleansing: Before migration, cleanse your source data to eliminate any duplicates or conflicts related to credit control areas. Ensure that each record has a unique mapping.

    3. Configuration Check: Verify that the credit control areas are correctly configured in the target SAP system. Ensure that all necessary credit control areas exist and are properly set up.

    4. Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or notes related to the specific migration tool you are using. There may be specific guidelines or best practices for handling credit control areas during migration.

    5. Testing: Conduct thorough testing of the migration process in a sandbox or development environment to identify and resolve any issues before executing the migration in the production environment.
