Message class: CNV_20212_CHECK - Messages for check functions (credit control area conv.)
Message number: 052
Message text: Temporary duplicates possible due to mapping of credit control areas
<DS:TX.CNV_MBT_TEMP_DUPLICATES>Temporary duplicates</> are possible due
to the mapping of credit control areas.
Example: Credit control area A is renamed into B (mapping: A -> B).
Credit control area B is renamed into C (mapping: B -> C). In this case,
temporary duplicates may occur in the database if credit control area A
is converted at a point in time when credit control area B has not yet
been converted. If temporary duplicates are likely to occur, the
conversion programs must be generated in a different way.
Warning
No action is required.
Temporary duplicates do not represent a problem to the transformation
solution. Note that temporary duplicates may result in a longer
conversion runtime.

CNV_20212_CHECK052
- Temporary duplicates possible due to mapping of credit control areas ?The SAP error message CNV_20212_CHECK052 indicates that there are potential temporary duplicates in the data due to the mapping of credit control areas during a data migration or conversion process. This error typically arises in the context of SAP S/4HANA migrations or data transfers where credit control areas are being mapped from legacy systems to the new system.
Cause:
- Mapping Issues: The error is often caused by incorrect or ambiguous mapping of credit control areas from the source system to the target system. If multiple records in the source system map to the same credit control area in the target system, it can lead to temporary duplicates.
- Data Integrity: There may be inconsistencies in the data being migrated, such as overlapping or conflicting credit control area assignments.
- Configuration Errors: Misconfiguration in the credit control area settings in the target system can also lead to this error.
Solution:
- Review Mapping: Check the mapping of credit control areas in the migration tool or process. Ensure that each credit control area in the source system is uniquely mapped to a corresponding area in the target system.
- Data Cleansing: Before migration, perform data cleansing to eliminate duplicates or resolve conflicts in the credit control area assignments.
- Adjust Configuration: Verify the configuration of credit control areas in the target system. Ensure that they are set up correctly and that there are no overlaps or conflicts.
- Use Migration Tools: Utilize SAP's migration tools (like the SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit) to assist in the mapping and validation process. These tools often provide checks and balances to prevent such issues.
- Testing: Conduct thorough testing of the migration process in a sandbox or development environment to identify and resolve any potential issues before executing the migration in the production environment.
