  • What causes this issue?

You reported an incident and then wanted to perform any of the following
    tasks:
    Open the incident for processing
    Change the incident category
You can perform these tasks only when the incident workflow is started
by the corresponding back end process. However, in this case, the system
could not determine a receiver for the workflow and therefore cancelled
    it.

    System Response

The system cancelled the incident workflow.

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

On the SAP Fiori launchpad, start the Manage Locations app and open the
Person Assignments section. Assign an incident manager role on the
    Person Assignments screen.

Contact your system administrator. Then, void the incident and reopen it
    for processing.

    Procedure for System Administrators

When an incident is reported in the system, a back end process starts a
workflow and sends a notification to the corresponding incident manager
role that is specified in Customizing, under the following activity:
<LS>Environment, Health and Safety -> Incident Management -> Master Data
Configuration -> Locations -> Specify Role of Person Responsible</>.
If the role is specified in the Customizing activity, but a person with
that role is not specified in the location where the incident occurred,
the system determines an incident manager from the superordinate
locations. Finally, the system starts the workflow for all incident
managers that are specified as persons responsible in the locations of
    the current location hierarchy revision.
To prevent cancellation of incident workflows, specify an incident
manager role in both, the Customizing activity <LS>Specify Role of
Person Responsible</>, and the corresponding locations in the system.
