Message class: CL - Classification
Message number: 680
Message text: Status "&1" is also used for a manual setting
You have set the <ZH>Automatic release</> indicator for the status.
We advise you to only use this indicator with "Incomplete system"
status, which is set automatically if objects are allocated to a class
without assigning values to one or more characteristics with the
<ZH>Entry required</> indicator. Once all required characteristics have
values, the classification is released, provided that the status has
the <ZH>Automatic release</> indicator.
If you set the indicator for a status that is assigned manually in
classification, the <ZH>Automatic release</> indicator can release
classifications that you want to lock for some other reason. The
automatic release function only checks whether all required
characteristics have values.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
Check whether you want to allow automatic release for a status that is
set manually.

- Status "&1" is also used for a manual setting ?The SAP error message CL680 indicates that a status code (represented by "&1") is being used in a way that conflicts with its intended use, particularly in the context of classification and status management. This error typically arises when there is an attempt to assign a status that is already designated for manual settings, which can lead to inconsistencies in the classification system.
Cause:
- Status Conflict: The status code you are trying to use is already defined as a manual status in the system. Manual statuses are typically used for specific purposes and cannot be assigned automatically or through certain processes.
- Configuration Issues: There may be a misconfiguration in the classification settings or status management settings in the SAP system.
- Data Integrity: The system is designed to maintain data integrity, and using a status that is reserved for manual settings in an automated process can lead to data inconsistencies.
Solution:
- Check Status Configuration: Review the configuration of the status in the classification system. Ensure that the status you are trying to use is not marked as a manual status if you intend to use it in an automated process.
- Navigate to the classification settings in the SAP system and check the status definitions.
- Use a Different Status: If the status is indeed meant to be a manual setting, consider using a different status that is appropriate for your process.
- Adjust Process Logic: If you are using a custom program or transaction that is trying to assign this status, you may need to adjust the logic to avoid using manual statuses in automated processes.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for more detailed information on status management and classification settings.
