The SAP error message CL193, which states "Change using engineering change management not possible for class type &," typically occurs when you attempt to make changes to a class in the Class Management module of SAP, but the class type you are working with is not configured to support Engineering Change Management (ECM).

    Cause:

    1. Class Type Configuration: The class type you are trying to change is not set up to use Engineering Change Management. In SAP, not all class types are enabled for ECM.

    Solution:

    1. Check Class Type Configuration:

    4. Object Status:

      • Check the status of the object you are trying to change. If it is locked or in a status that does not allow changes, you may need to unlock it or change its status before proceeding.
