  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

You have started multilevel costing with the option
    <DS:DE.CKML_CUTBOM>Reduced actual BOM</>. A cycle was calculated
through iteration in which one of the following errors appeared:
    Threshold value overrun, or
    Negative price
Because you selected "Reduced actual BOM", the cycle must now be
recosted. All input materials, which are also output materials of the
cycle, remain excluded. For this reason, the cycle is costed without
iteration. The remaining input materials are also successively reduced
in further costing steps, if one of the following errors should recur:
    Threshold value overrun
    Negative price

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message CKMLMV034 - Cycle &1 will be recosted with the reduced actual BOM ?

The SAP error message CKMLMV034 indicates that a cycle (in the context of product costing) will be recosted using a reduced actual Bill of Materials (BOM). This typically occurs in the context of Material Ledger and actual costing processes in SAP.

    Cause:

    1. Changes in BOM: The error usually arises when there are changes made to the BOM after the cycle has been created. If the BOM is reduced (i.e., some components are removed or quantities are decreased), the system needs to recalculate the costs based on the new BOM.
    2. Costing Run: The error can also occur during a costing run when the system detects that the BOM used for costing is not the same as the one currently active in the system.
    3. Material Ledger Settings: If the Material Ledger is activated and the actual costing is being used, any changes in the BOM will trigger this message.

    Solution:

    1. Review BOM Changes: Check the changes made to the BOM. Ensure that the changes are intentional and that the new BOM is correct.
    2. Reprocess the Costing Run: If the BOM has been updated, you may need to reprocess the costing run to ensure that the costs reflect the new BOM. This can be done through transaction codes like CK40N (Costing Run) or CKMLCP (Actual Costing).
    3. Check Material Ledger Settings: Ensure that the Material Ledger settings are correctly configured. If necessary, consult with your SAP Basis or configuration team to verify that the settings align with your business processes.
    4. Analyze the Cycle: If the cycle is not supposed to be recosted, you may need to analyze why the system is prompting this message. It could be due to a configuration issue or an unintended change in the BOM.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as CK11N (Create Cost Estimate), CK40N (Costing Run), and CKMLCP (Actual Costing).
    • Documentation: Review SAP documentation or help files related to Material Ledger and actual costing for more detailed guidance on handling BOM changes and costing processes.
    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that might address specific issues or bugs related to this error message.

If the issue persists after following these steps, it may be beneficial to consult with your SAP support team or a consultant who specializes in SAP costing and Material Ledger.
