  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

The system is attempting to valuate material &v1& in plant &v2&. In the
material master record of this material, the <DS:DE.CK_EKALREL>With

Make sure the <LS>With quantity structure</> indicator in the
accounting view of the material master record of material &v1& in plant

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message CK192 - Material & in plant & has no suitable cost component split ?

The SAP error message CK192 ("Material & in plant & has no suitable cost component split") typically occurs during the costing process in SAP, particularly when you are trying to perform a cost estimate for a material that does not have a defined cost component split. This can happen in various scenarios, such as during the creation of a cost estimate for a material or when trying to analyze costs.

    Cause:

    1. Missing Cost Component Split: The primary cause of this error is that the material in question does not have a defined cost component split in the costing variant or in the material master data.
    2. Costing Variant Configuration: The costing variant used for the cost estimate may not be configured to include the necessary cost components.
    3. Material Master Data: The material master may not have the required costing data maintained, or the cost component structure may not be assigned correctly.
    4. Plant-Specific Settings: The error may also arise if the plant-specific settings for the material do not align with the costing requirements.

    Solution:

    1. Check Cost Component Split:

      • Go to the transaction code CK11N (Create Cost Estimate) or CK40N (Costing Run) and check the costing variant being used.
      • Ensure that the cost component split is defined for the costing variant. You can do this by navigating to SPRO > Controlling > Product Cost Controlling > Costing > Costing Variants and checking the settings.
    2. Maintain Material Master Data:

      • Use transaction code MM02 to change the material master data.
      • Ensure that the costing view is properly maintained and that the cost component split is defined for the material in the relevant plant.
    3. Review Costing Variant Settings:

      • Check the costing variant settings to ensure that the cost component structure is correctly assigned. This can be done in the same SPRO path mentioned above.
    4. Assign Cost Component Structure:

      • If the cost component structure is missing, you may need to assign a suitable cost component structure to the material. This can be done in the material master under the costing view.
    5. Run Costing Again:

      • After making the necessary changes, try running the cost estimate again to see if the error persists.

    Related Information:

    • Cost Component Structure: This is a key element in product costing that defines how costs are broken down into various components (e.g., material costs, labor costs, overhead costs).
    • Costing Variants: These are configurations that determine how cost estimates are calculated, including which cost components are included.
    • Transaction Codes:
      • CK11N: Create Cost Estimate
      • CK40N: Costing Run
      • MM02: Change Material Master
      • SPRO: Customizing Implementation Guide

If the issue persists after following these steps, it may be beneficial to consult with your SAP support team or a functional consultant who specializes in Product Cost Controlling (CO-PC) for further assistance.
