How To Fix BRAIN063 - Permitted charctrs for char. values in the Business Information Warehouse

SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: BRAIN -

  • Message number: 063

  • Message text: Permitted charctrs for char. values in the Business Information Warehouse

  • Show details Hide details
  • Problem description
No lowercase letters are allowed for characteristic values (in
InfoObject maintenance). Whether or not a character is capitalized
depends on the language being used however.
Characters '&V1&&V2&' are capitalized in all languages. These characters
are therefore allowed for characteristic values.
    &Example&
The bit combination that stands for an '+' in German displays a small
'sch' in the Russian character set. A German '+' is therefore not
    capitalized in Russian.
In the German character set, the bit combination shows a "pictured
reflected P" for the Russian capitals "SCH". The conversion of lowercase
letters to uppercase is therefore language-dependent.

    How to fix this error?

If you have a system that delivers permitted characters other than '&V1&
&V2&', you can enter these characters here. The system then checks
whether these characters are capitalized in all of the languages
installed in your system. If this is the case, these characters are also
    accepted in characteristic values.
    &WARNING&
You should only add additional characters to the permitted characters if
you have already installed all the languages that you want to use later.
All languages that you install subsequently are not checked.
The validity of these additional characters might not be guaranteed, and
the selectability of the entire master data is therefore put at risk.
