- Archive session &1 was interrupted due to an explicit request ?The SAP error message BA301 indicates that an archive session was interrupted due to an explicit request. This typically occurs when a user or a system process has manually stopped the archiving process. Here’s a breakdown of the cause, potential solutions, and related information:
Cause:
- Manual Intervention: The most common cause is that a user or administrator has manually interrupted the archiving session, either through the SAP GUI or through a programmatic interface.
- System Issues: There may be underlying system issues, such as resource constraints (e.g., memory, disk space) that prompted the interruption.
- Configuration Errors: Incorrect configuration settings in the archiving process can lead to interruptions.
- Job Scheduling Conflicts: If the archiving job is scheduled to run at the same time as other resource-intensive jobs, it may be interrupted.
Solution:
- Check Logs: Review the application logs and the job logs to identify the exact reason for the interruption. This can provide insights into whether it was a manual stop or due to system issues.
- Restart the Archiving Session: If the interruption was intentional and you want to continue archiving, you can restart the session. Use transaction code SARA to manage archiving sessions.
- Review Configuration: Ensure that the archiving configuration is correct. Check the settings in transaction SARA and make adjustments as necessary.
- Resource Management: Monitor system resources to ensure that there are no constraints that could lead to interruptions. This may involve checking memory usage, disk space, and CPU load.
- Job Scheduling: If there are conflicts with other jobs, consider rescheduling the archiving job to a time when system resources are more available.
- User Permissions: Ensure that the user who initiated the archiving process has the necessary permissions and is aware of the implications of stopping the process.
