This message typically arises in the context of asset accounting (FI-AA) when there is an attempt to process or post data related to an asset that is not configured to require additional information.
Cause:
- Configuration Settings: The asset master record may be configured in such a way that it does not require additional data for the specified transaction. This could be due to the asset class settings or the specific configuration of the asset itself.
- Data Deletion: The system automatically deletes data that is not necessary for the asset based on the configuration. This can happen during transactions like asset transfers, retirements, or adjustments.
- Inconsistent Data: There may be inconsistencies in the data entered for the asset, leading the system to determine that certain data is not needed.
Solution:
- Check Asset Master Data: Review the asset master record to ensure that it is correctly configured. Check the asset class settings to see if they require additional data.
- Review Configuration: If you have access to the configuration settings, check the asset accounting configuration to ensure that the settings align with your business requirements. This includes checking the asset class and its parameters.
- Transaction Review: Analyze the transaction that triggered the error. Ensure that all required fields are filled out correctly and that the transaction is appropriate for the asset type.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on the asset class and its requirements.
