Message text: Cannot change interest calc. meth. affecting conditions with posted flows
The interest calculation method was changed in the condition header. The
interest calculation method from the condition header is applied in the
case of conditions that do not have an interest calculation method
assigned. Flows have already been posted for such conditions.
Changing the interest calculation method can lead to various negative
effects in cash flow calculation, such as duplicate flows, superfluous
flows, or flows with incorrect amounts. A well-known example is a change
in interest calculation method to or from the method F 360/360 (ISDA).
Interest calculation method can't be changed.
If you want to change interest calculation for individual conditions,
create new conditions with a corresponding Valid-from date and the new
interest calculation method.

- Cannot change interest calc. meth. affecting conditions with posted flows ?The SAP error message 65237, "Cannot change interest calc. meth. affecting conditions with posted flows," typically occurs in the context of financial transactions, particularly when dealing with interest calculation methods in the SAP system. This error indicates that there are posted flows (transactions) that are affected by the interest calculation method you are trying to change.
Cause:
Posted Transactions: The primary cause of this error is that there are already posted transactions (flows) that are linked to the interest calculation method you are attempting to change. SAP does not allow changes to the interest calculation method if it would affect these posted transactions, as it could lead to inconsistencies in financial reporting and calculations.
Interest Calculation Method: The interest calculation method is often set at the time of contract creation or configuration. If you try to change it after transactions have been posted, the system will prevent this to maintain data integrity.
Solution:
Review Posted Transactions: Check the posted transactions related to the specific contract or financial object. You can do this by reviewing the transaction history or flow logs in the relevant module (e.g., Financial Accounting, Treasury).
Reverse or Adjust Posted Flows: If it is necessary to change the interest calculation method, you may need to reverse or adjust the posted transactions that are affected. This can involve:
- Reversing the transactions if they are not needed anymore.
- Adjusting the transactions to remove the dependency on the current interest calculation method.
Change Interest Calculation Method: Once the posted flows are addressed, you can proceed to change the interest calculation method. Ensure that you follow the correct procedure in the SAP system to make this change.
Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific steps on how to handle interest calculation methods and posted transactions in your version of SAP.
Seek Help from SAP Support: If you are unable to resolve the issue, consider reaching out to your SAP support team or consulting with SAP experts who can provide guidance based on your specific configuration and business processes.
Related Information:
Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes that can help you analyze and manage posted flows, such as:
Configuration Settings: Review the configuration settings for interest calculation methods in the SAP system. This can usually be found in the Financial Accounting (FI) or Treasury (TR) modules.
User Roles and Permissions: Ensure that you have the necessary permissions to make changes to interest calculation methods and posted transactions.
