Message text: Do not maintain time interpretation and scheduling together
The function "Interpretation of points of time in the calendar" cannot
be combined with sceduling.
You can use scheduling to determine that the beginning of the period or
the end of the period are interpreted as availability dates for period
lot-sizes - as opposed to the default that the first requirement within
the period is interpreted as the availability date.
As this involves the scheduling of the availability date, this
indicator cannot be combined with the indicator for the "Time
interpretation for calendar as delivery dates".
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

61223
- Do not maintain time interpretation and scheduling together ?The SAP error message 61223, "Do not maintain time interpretation and scheduling together," typically occurs in the context of time management and scheduling in SAP systems, particularly when dealing with work schedules, time evaluation, or personnel planning.
Cause:
This error arises when there is a conflict in the configuration settings for time interpretation and scheduling. Specifically, it indicates that both time interpretation (which deals with how time data is interpreted and processed) and scheduling (which involves planning and assigning work times) are being maintained simultaneously for the same object or configuration. This is not allowed because it can lead to inconsistencies in how time data is processed.
Solution:
To resolve this error, you need to ensure that you are not trying to maintain both time interpretation and scheduling settings for the same object. Here are the steps you can take:
Review Configuration: Check the configuration settings in the relevant areas of SAP (such as the Time Management module) to see where both time interpretation and scheduling are being defined.
Decide on One Approach: Determine whether you want to use time interpretation or scheduling for the specific object you are working with. Choose one method based on your business requirements.
Remove Conflicting Settings: If you decide to use one method, remove or deactivate the settings for the other method. This may involve:
- Deleting or adjusting the time interpretation settings if you choose to go with scheduling.
- Conversely, if you prefer time interpretation, ensure that scheduling settings are not maintained.
Test Changes: After making the necessary adjustments, test the changes to ensure that the error no longer occurs and that the time data is processed correctly.
Consult Documentation: If you are unsure about the implications of your changes, refer to SAP documentation or consult with an SAP expert to ensure that you are following best practices.
