The SAP error message 5G258 indicates that there is a conflict between the placement end date and the leave end date in the system. This error typically arises in the context of personnel administration or time management modules, where the system is trying to validate the dates associated with an employee's placement and their leave of absence.

    Cause:

    The error occurs when:

    • The placement end date (the date when an employee's current position or assignment ends) is set to a date that is later than the leave end date (the date when the employee's leave of absence is scheduled to end).

    Solution:

To resolve this error, you can take the following steps:

    1. Check Dates: Review the placement end date and the leave end date for the employee in question. Ensure that the placement end date is not set to a date that is after the leave end date.

    2. Adjust Dates:

      • If the placement end date is incorrect, update it to a date that is on or before the leave end date.
      • If the leave end date is incorrect, update it to a date that is on or after the placement end date.
    3. Consult with HR: If you are unsure about which date should be adjusted, consult with your HR department or the relevant personnel responsible for managing employee records.

    4. Reprocess the Action: After making the necessary adjustments, reprocess the action that triggered the error to see if the issue is resolved.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: You may need to use transaction codes such as PA30 (Maintain HR Master Data) or PA20 (Display HR Master Data) to view and edit employee records.
    • Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or your organization's SAP user guide for specific instructions on managing employee placements and leaves of absence.
