- You refer to a structure link in a non-production folder ?The SAP error message 42835, which states "You refer to a structure link in a non-production folder," typically occurs in the context of SAP's data modeling or development environments, particularly when working with structures, data models, or other objects that are organized into folders.
Cause:
This error arises when you attempt to reference a structure or object that is located in a non-production folder (such as a development or test folder) while working in a production context. SAP has strict rules regarding the use of objects in production environments to ensure stability and integrity. Non-production folders are typically used for development and testing purposes, and references to these objects are not allowed in production scenarios.
Solution:
To resolve this error, you can take the following steps:
Check Object References: Review the object or structure you are trying to reference. Ensure that it is located in a production folder. If it is in a non-production folder, you will need to move it to a production folder.
Move or Copy the Structure: If the structure is essential for your production work, consider moving or copying it to a production folder. This may involve:
- Transporting the object from the development environment to the production environment using SAP's transport management system (TMS).
- Creating a new structure in the production folder that replicates the necessary attributes of the original structure.
Update References: After moving or copying the structure, update any references in your code or configuration to point to the new location of the structure in the production folder.
Testing: After making the changes, ensure to test the functionality to confirm that the error is resolved and that everything works as expected.
