  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

You want to explode the hierarchy of a document. The system has
recognized that the hierarchy is <GL:recursiveness>recursive</> as from
    document &V1& &V2& &V3& &V4&.
Recursiveness is not supported for documents. If the system recognizes
recursiveness in documents, it issues an error message.
Under certain circumstances, the system does not recognize
recursiveness until the document is posted, so does not stop it
    occurring.
You cannot display the entire hierarchy of a recursive document.

    How to fix this error?

To display the entire hierarchy of the document, you must also display
the hierarchy of document &V1& &V2& &V3& &V4&, from which the hierarchy
    is recursive.

The SAP error message 26033, which states "Document hierarchy is recursive from &/&/&/&," typically occurs in the context of document management or when dealing with document hierarchies in SAP. This error indicates that there is a recursive relationship in the document hierarchy, meaning that a document is referencing itself either directly or indirectly, which creates a loop that cannot be resolved.

    Cause:

    1. Recursive References: The most common cause of this error is that a document is set up to reference itself or is part of a circular reference with other documents.
    2. Incorrect Document Structure: The hierarchy of documents may have been incorrectly defined, leading to a situation where a document points back to itself.

    2. Correct References: If you identify a recursive reference, correct it by changing the document links to ensure that no document points back to itself.
    3. Use Transaction Codes: Utilize transaction codes like CV03N (Display Document) or CV04N (Display Document Info Records) to analyze the document structure and relationships.
    4. Data Consistency Check: Run consistency checks on the document management system to identify and resolve any inconsistencies in document relationships.
    5. Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidelines on managing document hierarchies and resolving recursive references.
