This error indicates a discrepancy between the effective price of a material and its actual price in the system.
Cause:
- Price Discrepancy: The effective price calculated for a material (which may include discounts, surcharges, or other pricing conditions) does not match the material's standard price or moving average price in the system.
- Incorrect Pricing Conditions: There may be issues with the pricing conditions set up in the system, such as incorrect condition records or missing conditions.
- Currency Differences: If the effective price and material price are in different currencies, this can lead to discrepancies if currency conversion is not handled correctly.
- Material Master Data Issues: There may be inconsistencies or errors in the material master data, such as incorrect valuation class or price control settings.
Solution:
- Check Pricing Conditions: Review the pricing conditions for the material in question. Ensure that all relevant condition records are correctly maintained and that there are no missing or incorrect entries.
- Review Material Master Data: Check the material master data for the material in question. Ensure that the valuation class, price control (standard price vs. moving average price), and other relevant fields are correctly set.
- Currency Conversion: If applicable, verify that currency conversion is set up correctly and that the effective price and material price are being compared in the same currency.
- Recalculate Prices: If necessary, recalculate the prices for the material. This can often be done through transaction codes like MR21 (Change Material Price) or by running a pricing report.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on the error message and its implications.
