  5. Select a type for the characteristic from the drop-down menu (e.g., fiscal year, period, day). 
  6. Enter a start date and end date for the characteristic in the corresponding fields. 
  7. Select “Save” from the menu bar to save your changes. 
  8. Select “Activate” from the menu bar to activate your changes. 
  
  Other Recommendations: 
  It is important to note that OKCB is only used for creating and maintaining characteristics related to time; it cannot be used for other types of characteristics (e.g., cost center). Additionally, it is recommended that users familiarize themselves with other SAP Controlling (CO) transactions before using OKCB, as they may be necessary for certain tasks related to time characteristics (e.g., OKB9).
