Overview: J-6B is an SAP transaction code used to access the User-Specific Selection Version Tree in the Materials Management (MM) module. This transaction code is used to create and maintain user-specific selection versions of material master data. Functionality: The J-6B transaction code allows users to create and maintain user-specific selection versions of material master data. This includes creating new versions, copying existing versions, and deleting versions. It also allows users to assign a version to a material, assign a version to a plant, and assign a version to a purchasing organization. Step-by-step How to Use: 1. Enter the J-6B transaction code in the command field. 2. Select the “Create” option from the menu bar. 3. Enter the name of the new version you want to create in the “Version Name” field. 4. Select the “Copy” option from the menu bar if you want to copy an existing version. 5. Enter the name of the existing version you want to copy in the “Version Name” field. 6. Select the “Delete” option from the menu bar if you want to delete an existing version. 7. Enter the name of the existing version you want to delete in the “Version Name” field. 8. Select the “Assign Version” option from the menu bar if you want to assign a version to a material, plant, or purchasing organization. 9. Enter the name of the version you want to assign in the “Version Name” field and select either material, plant, or purchasing organization from the dropdown list depending on what you want to assign it to. 10. Click on “Save” when you are done making changes or creating/deleting versions. Other Recommendations: It is recommended that users familiarize themselves with all of the options available in this transaction code before making any changes or creating/deleting versions as it can be difficult to undo any changes made without proper knowledge of how this transaction code works. Additionally, it is important that users always save their changes before exiting out of this transaction code as any unsaved changes will be lost when exiting out of it without saving them first.
