  • Key Concepts:
A branch type is a classification of a branch in the SAP system. It is used to differentiate between different types of branches, such as sales, distribution, or production. The branch type is used to determine the type of transactions that can be performed in the branch and the type of data that can be stored in the branch.

    How to use it:
In order to use a branch type, it must first be created in the SAP system. This can be done by navigating to the component SRD-SCM-MD SCM-Master Data and selecting the “Create Branch Type” option. Once created, the branch type can be assigned to a specific branch in order to determine what types of transactions and data can be stored in that branch.

    Tips & Tricks:
When creating a new branch type, it is important to consider what types of transactions and data will need to be stored in that branch. This will help ensure that the correct branch type is selected for each branch. Additionally, it is important to ensure that all branches have a unique branch type assigned to them so that transactions and data are not mixed up between branches.
