  • Key Concepts:
FTZ ID stands for Foreign Trade Zone Identification. It is a unique identifier assigned to a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). FTZs are designated areas in the United States where goods can be imported, stored, and re-exported without paying duties or taxes. The FTZ ID is used to identify the FTZ when filing documents with CBP.

    How to use it:
The FTZ ID is used in SAP’s Global Trade Services (GTS) component to identify the FTZ when filing documents with CBP. The FTZ ID is entered into the GTS system when creating an FTZ document, such as an entry summary or entry/exit report. The FTZ ID is also used when creating an export declaration for goods that are being exported from an FTZ.

    Tips & Tricks:
When entering the FTZ ID into GTS, make sure to double-check that it is correct. Incorrect or missing FTZ IDs can lead to delays in processing documents with CBP.
