What is certificate of origin in SAP SD-FT - Foreign Trade?

  • Description: A formal certificate in which an exporter identifies the origin of their goods, and the customs authorities have confirmed that this information is correct. If goods have been processed in several countries, the goods are considered to originate from the country in which they were last procesed. A Certificate of Origin is required in the United States of America. In industrial countries such as Australia, Canada or EU Member States, the certificate of origin Form A is necessary for goods from developing countries that are entered in the Generalized System of Preferences GSP. In the EU, the movement certificate EUR.1 also serves as a valid certificate of origin.

    How to use it: 
    In SAP Foreign Trade, the Certificate of Origin is used to determine the origin of goods for customs purposes. The CO can be created manually or automatically in SAP. To create a CO manually, go to Logistics > Foreign Trade/Customs > Foreign Trade > Documentary Payments > Certificate of Origin > Create. To create a CO automatically, go to Logistics > Foreign Trade/Customs > Foreign Trade > Documentary Payments > Certificate of Origin > Automatic Creation. 
    
    Tips & Tricks: 
    When creating a CO manually, make sure to enter all relevant information accurately and completely. This includes the country of origin, type of goods, and any other required information. Additionally, make sure to check with the relevant authorities for any specific requirements that may apply to your particular situation.
