What is disaggregation demand in SAP SCM-APO-SNP - Supply Network Planning (SNP)?

SAP Term: disaggregation demand

  • Component: SCM-APO-SNP

  • Component Name: Supply Network Planning (SNP)

  • Description: Demand of sub location products of a location product hierarchy, which is determined during aggregated planning by SNP disaggregation, to disaggregate the header product level planning results down to the sub location products. By default, the system calculates this demand by taking into account warehouse stock and stores it in an auxiliary key figure. This does not take into account demand that could not be fulfilled in earlier periods. However, the user can also define the demand calculation themselves.

  • Key Concepts:
Disaggregation demand is a feature of SAP Supply Network Planning (SNP) that allows for the splitting of a single demand into multiple demands. This is useful when the demand needs to be split into different components or when the demand needs to be split into different locations.

    How to use it:
In order to use disaggregation demand, you must first create a master demand in SNP. This master demand will contain all of the information about the original demand, such as quantity, location, and product. Once the master demand is created, you can then use the disaggregation feature to split the master demand into multiple demands. Each of these new demands will contain only a portion of the original master demand.

    Tips & Tricks:
When using disaggregation demand, it is important to ensure that all of the necessary information is included in each of the new demands. This includes quantity, location, and product information. Additionally, it is important to ensure that all of the new demands are linked back to the original master demand so that they can be tracked and managed together.

    Related Information:
Disaggregation demand is a powerful tool for managing complex supply chains. It can be used in conjunction with other features of SNP such as capacity planning and inventory optimization to create an efficient and effective supply chain. Additionally, disaggregation demand can be used in conjunction with other SAP modules such as Materials Management (MM) and Sales and Distribution (SD) to ensure that all orders are fulfilled in a timely manner.
