  • Key Concepts:
Characteristic requirement is a feature of the Characteristics-Dependent Planning (CDP) component of SAP's Supply Chain Management - Advanced Planner and Optimizer (SCM-APO). It allows users to define specific requirements for a product or service based on its characteristics. For example, a user could specify that a product must have a certain color, size, or weight in order to be accepted.

    How to use it:
Characteristic requirement can be used to ensure that only products or services with the desired characteristics are accepted. To set up characteristic requirement, users must first define the characteristics they want to use. Then, they can set up the requirements for each characteristic. Finally, they can assign the requirements to the products or services they want to control.

    Tips & Tricks:
When setting up characteristic requirement, it is important to consider how the requirements will interact with other components of CDP. For example, if a product has multiple characteristics that must be met in order for it to be accepted, users should make sure that all of the requirements are compatible with each other.
