What is partial confirmation in SAP PP - Production Planning and Control?

SAP Term: partial confirmation

Smart SAP Assistant

  • Key Concepts:
Partial confirmation is a feature in SAP Production Planning and Control (PP) that allows users to confirm a portion of a production order. This is useful when the entire order cannot be completed at once, or when the user wants to confirm only certain components of the order. Partial confirmation can also be used to confirm multiple orders at once.

    How to use it:
To use partial confirmation, the user must first create a production order in PP. Once the order is created, the user can select the “Partial Confirmation” option from the menu. This will open a window where the user can select which components of the order they want to confirm. The user can then enter the quantity of each component they want to confirm and click “Confirm” to complete the process.

    Tips & Tricks:
When using partial confirmation, it is important to remember that only components that have been confirmed will be considered as part of the production order. If any components are not confirmed, they will not be included in the final product. Additionally, it is important to note that partial confirmation cannot be used for orders with multiple operations; all operations must be completed before partial confirmation can be used.
