Component Name: Policy Management
Description: A journal number is assigned for each new policy version. In the contract journal or application journal, this journal number allows you to find the appropriate journal entry, which contains more information about the policy version such as the effective date, date of execution, processor, and so on.
Key Concepts: Journal number is a unique identifier assigned to each journal entry in the SAP FS-PM Policy Management component. It is used to track and manage the journal entries in the system. The journal number is composed of two parts: the journal type and the journal number. The journal type is a two-digit code that identifies the type of journal entry, such as a payment or a transfer. The journal number is a unique number assigned to each journal entry. How to use it: The journal number can be used to search for and view specific journal entries in the system. To do this, go to the “Journal Entries” tab in the SAP FS-PM Policy Management component. Enter the journal type and number in the search fields and click “Search”. This will display all entries with that particular journal number. Tips & Tricks: When entering a journal number, make sure to enter it correctly. If you enter an incorrect journal number, you may not be able to find the desired entry. Additionally, if you are searching for multiple entries with the same journal type, you can use wildcards (e.g., “*”) in the search field to find all entries with that particular type.
