  • Key Concepts:
A reserve account is a type of asset account in SAP Financial Accounting (FI) that is used to store funds for future use. It is a non-operating account, meaning it does not directly affect the company’s income or expenses. Instead, it is used to set aside money for future investments or to cover potential losses.

    How to Use It:
In SAP FI, reserve accounts are created and managed in the Asset Accounting module. When creating a reserve account, you will need to specify the account type (e.g., current assets, long-term assets, etc.), the currency, and the account group. Once created, you can transfer funds from other accounts into the reserve account and vice versa.

    Tips & Tricks:
When setting up a reserve account in SAP FI, it is important to ensure that the account is properly configured and that all transactions are properly recorded. Additionally, it is important to monitor the balance of the reserve account regularly to ensure that it is not being overused or depleted.
