In SAP, the VAT unit is used to assign the relevant tax codes to a company’s VAT registration number. This allows the system to accurately calculate taxes for transactions within the company. To set up a VAT unit, go to the FI-LOC Localization component and select “VAT Unit” from the menu. Enter the relevant information such as the company’s name, address, and VAT registration number.
