What is non-unit object in SAP EP-PIN - Portal Infrastructure?

  • Description: In the administration environment of SAP NetWeaver Portal, any object that is visible only from with another object, such as an iView in a page or a role. A unit object is visible in its own right to the portal content administrator.

    Non-unit objects are objects that are not part of a unit in the SAP Enterprise Portal (EP) PIN Portal Infrastructure. These objects can be used to store and manage data, such as documents, images, and other files. They can also be used to create links between different units in the portal. 
    
    How to use it: 
    Non-unit objects can be created and managed in the EP-PIN Portal Infrastructure. To create a non-unit object, go to the “Objects” tab in the portal and select “Create Non-Unit Object”. This will open a form where you can enter the details of the object, such as its name, description, and type. Once you have entered all the necessary information, click “Save” to create the object. 
    
    Tips & Tricks: 
    When creating non-unit objects, it is important to give them meaningful names that will help you identify them later on. It is also important to assign them to the correct unit so that they can be easily accessed by other users.
