  • Key Concepts:
A non-unique index is an index in the ABAP Dictionary that allows multiple entries with the same value. It is used to speed up access to data in a database table. The index is created on one or more fields of the table and can be used to quickly search for records with specific values.

    How to use it:
To create a non-unique index, you must first define the fields that will be included in the index. This can be done in the ABAP Dictionary by selecting the table and then selecting the “Indexes” tab. From there, you can select “Create” and enter the name of the index and the fields that will be included. Once you have saved your changes, the index will be created and can be used to quickly search for records with specific values.

    Tips & Tricks:
When creating a non-unique index, it is important to consider which fields should be included in the index. The more fields that are included, the slower the search will be. It is also important to consider how often the index will be used and how many records will need to be searched. If the index will only be used occasionally or if there are not many records that need to be searched, then a non-unique index may not be necessary.
