What is permanent authentication in SAP (EP-PIN-SEC - Portal Security)?

It enables the system administrator to to determine if client-side authentication should occur every time an iView or portal component is loaded. When permanent authentication is disabled, authentication occurs only once per session. Valid values for the property are: Enable, Disable.

  Permanent authentication is a feature of the SAP Enterprise Portal (EP) PIN Security component that allows users to authenticate themselves once and remain logged in for a specified period of time. This eliminates the need for users to re-enter their credentials each time they access the portal. 
  
  How to use it: 
  To enable permanent authentication, users must first log in to the portal using their credentials. Once logged in, they can select the “Remember Me” option, which will keep them logged in for a specified period of time. This period can be adjusted by an administrator in the EP-PIN-SEC Portal Security settings. 
  
  Tips & Tricks: 
  It is important to note that permanent authentication is only available for users who have enabled two-factor authentication. Additionally, it is recommended that users log out of the portal when they are finished using it, as this will ensure that their credentials are not stored on any public computers.
