  • Key Concepts:
A derived role is a type of role in SAP Enterprise Portal (EP) that is created by combining multiple existing roles. This allows users to have access to the same set of functions and data without having to manually assign each individual role. Derived roles are created using the EP-PIN-ROL Roles component.

    How to use it:
To create a derived role, first select the existing roles that you want to combine. Then, in the EP-PIN-ROL Roles component, select the “Create Derived Role” option. Enter a name for the derived role and select the roles that you want to combine. Finally, click “Save” to create the derived role.

    Tips & Tricks:
When creating a derived role, it is important to ensure that all of the roles that you are combining have compatible access rights. If there are any conflicts between the access rights of the different roles, then the derived role will not be created correctly.
