What is data salvage in SAP EIM-DI-DI - SAP BusinessObjects Data Integrator?

  • Component: EIM-DI-DI

  • Component Name: SAP BusinessObjects Data Integrator

  • Description: The process of temporarily copying data from a passenger record to the the driver record after the two records are compared. The data that’s copied is data that is found in the passenger record, but is missing or incomplete initials, for example in the driver record. Data salvaging prevents blank matching or initials matching from matching records that you may not want to match.

    Data salvage is a feature of SAP BusinessObjects Data Integrator (EIM-DI-DI) that allows users to recover data from failed jobs.     How to use it: 
    Data salvage can be used by selecting the “Data Salvage” option in the Data Integrator menu. This will open a window where users can select the job or jobs they want to recover data from. Once the job or jobs have been selected, users can then select the data they want to recover and click “Recover”. 
    
    Tips & Tricks: 
    When using data salvage, it is important to remember that only data from failed jobs can be recovered. Additionally, it is important to note that data salvage will not restore any changes made to the data after the job failed.
