What is normalized in SAP EHS-CI - SAP Carbon Impact?

SAP Term: normalized

  • Component: EHS-CI

  • Component Name: SAP Carbon Impact

  • Description: A method of comparing emissions values that are measured in different units. For example: One activity has a calculated emission of 10g of CO2. Another activity has a calculated emission of 20kg of CO2. Another activity has a calculated emission of 1 metric ton of CO2. To get the total of all activities, we must convert all emissions to the same unit. If we use the normalized unit 'kg', we must convert all emissions to kg. Once it is all converted to kg, then we can add these numbers to get the total. In this case, the normalized value for 10g converted to kg is 0.01kg.
