What is local parameters in SAP EC-CS - Consolidation?


SAP Term: local parameters

  • Component Name: Consolidation

  • Description: The tools that enable the user to override the global parameters for his or her activities temporarily. The local parameters include the consolidation version, the fiscal year and the period.


Smart SAP Assistant

  • Key Concepts: 
    Local parameters are settings that are specific to a particular consolidation unit. They are used to define the consolidation process for a particular unit, such as the currency, the consolidation method, and the consolidation rules. 
    
    How to use it: 
    Local parameters can be set up in the Consolidation Settings tab of the Consolidation Unit Master Data. The settings can be changed at any time, and will be applied to all subsequent consolidations. 
    
    Tips & Tricks: 
    When setting up local parameters, it is important to ensure that all of the settings are consistent with each other. For example, if you set up a currency conversion rate, make sure that it is consistent with the currency of the consolidation unit.
