What is container in SAP CEC-MKT - SAP Marketing?


SAP Term: container

  • Description: Storage object for incoming interactions with shareable IDs that cannot be uniquely assigned to one contact. Example Family members share a PC with one IP address. When a family member browses a website without being logged on with a unique user, it is not clear to whom the browsing interactions can be attributed. Such interactions are technically stored as container contacts.

    When creating containers in SAP Marketing Cloud, it is important to give them descriptive names that will make them easy to find later on. Additionally, it is helpful to create folders within containers to further organize content. This will make it easier to find specific items when needed.
