The processor only needs to add additional information. An activity template is always assigned to an activity type for example, immediate action, corrective action and thus to an activity category for example, basic activity, extended activity. Using activity templates, groups of activities can also be preplanned and then transferred to a quality issue. Activity templates in QIM are, for example, sending an e-mail message to a customer or blocking a batch as an immediate action to avoid further problems.
