What is activity template in SAP CA-IAM-MOC - SAP Management of Change?

SAP Term: activity template

  • Component: CA-IAM-MOC

  • Component Name: SAP Management of Change

  • Description: If you carry out the same activity on a regular basis, you can use activity templates to save time when creating new activities. The properties of a particular activity, such as the activity type, description, required partner roles and subactivities are copied into the new activity when an activity of this template is created. The processor of the activity then only needs to add additional information. Using activity templates, groups of activities can also be preplanned and then transferred to a change request. An activity template must be assigned to an activity type for example, task, question catalog. For example, an activity template could be called "evaluate faulty pump" and have the subactivities "check pump supply" and "approve technical changes"

Smart SAP Assistant

  • Key Concepts:
An activity template is a feature of the SAP Management of Change (CA-IAM-MOC) component that allows users to create and store templates for activities that are frequently repeated. Activity templates can be used to quickly create new activities with the same parameters, such as duration, resources, and cost. This helps to streamline the process of creating and managing activities.

    How to use it:
To use an activity template, first create a template for the activity you wish to repeat. This can be done by selecting the “Create Template” option from the SAP Management of Change menu. Once the template is created, you can then select it when creating a new activity. This will automatically populate the fields with the parameters from the template.

    Tips & Tricks:
When creating an activity template, it is important to ensure that all of the necessary parameters are included. This will help to ensure that all activities created using the template are consistent and accurate. Additionally, it is important to keep track of which templates are being used for which activities, as this will help to ensure that all activities are properly tracked and managed.
