What is status type in SAP CA-DMS - Document Management System?

  • Description: The categorization of document statuses according to distinguishing features. You can assign a status type to a status if you want the SAP System to make additional checks. For example, you can define at which stage in the processing the status can be set. The following status types are defined: Initial status Primary status Locked status Original processing status Archive status Temporary status

    Status type is a feature of the SAP CA-DMS Document Management System (DMS) that allows users to assign a status to documents.     To use the status type feature, users must first create a status type in the DMS. This can be done by selecting “Create Status Type” from the DMS menu. Once created, users can assign a status type to any document in the system. This can be done by selecting “Change Status Type” from the document’s menu.

    When creating a status type, it is important to consider how it will be used and who will have access to documents with that status. For example, if a document is marked as “in progress”, only certain users should have access to it.
