Component: CA-CL
Component Name: Classification
Description: Automatic inheritance of characteristics within a class network or hierarchy. This means that the characteristics are available in all subordinate classes and do not have to be entered manually in each class within a path. Characteristics are only inherited by classes that do not already contain the characteristic.
Key Concepts: Characteristic inheritance is a feature of the CA-CL Classification component of SAP. It allows characteristics to be inherited from a parent node to its child nodes in a classification tree. This means that when a characteristic is assigned to a parent node, it will automatically be assigned to all of its child nodes as well. How to use it: To use characteristic inheritance, first create a classification tree in the CA-CL Classification component. Then assign characteristics to the parent node. All of the child nodes will then automatically inherit the characteristics from the parent node. Tips & Tricks: When using characteristic inheritance, it is important to remember that characteristics can only be inherited from parent nodes to their child nodes. Characteristics cannot be inherited from child nodes to their parent nodes.
