CRL distribution point - Details

  • Key Concepts: CRL Distribution Point (CDP) is a feature of the SAP BC-SEC Security component that allows administrators to distribute Certificate Revocation Lists (CRLs) to clients. CRLs are lists of certificates that have been revoked by the issuing authority and are used to verify the validity of certificates. By distributing CRLs, administrators can ensure that clients are using valid certificates and prevent them from using revoked certificates.
How to use it: To use CRL Distribution Point, administrators must first create a CRL Distribution Point in the SAP BC-SEC Security component. This can be done by selecting the “Create CRL Distribution Point” option in the Security menu. Once the CRL Distribution Point has been created, administrators can then configure it to distribute CRLs to clients. This can be done by selecting the “Configure CRL Distribution Point” option in the Security menu.
Tips & Tricks: When configuring a CRL Distribution Point, administrators should ensure that they select the correct certificate authority for the CRLs they wish to distribute. Additionally, administrators should ensure that they configure the CRL Distribution Point to distribute CRLs on a regular basis, as this will ensure that clients are always using valid certificates.
