Description: A temporary version transient state of a business object until it is permanently stored in the persistence layer as an active instance.
Key Concepts: A draft instance is a feature of the BC-ESI-RAP RESTful ABAP Programming Model. It allows users to create a copy of an existing instance and make changes to it without affecting the original instance. This allows users to test out changes before committing them to the original instance. How to use it: To create a draft instance, users must first select the instance they wish to copy. Then, they can click on the “Create Draft Instance” button in the SAP GUI. This will create a copy of the original instance with all of its data and settings. Users can then make changes to this draft instance without affecting the original instance. Tips & Tricks: When creating a draft instance, it is important to remember that any changes made to the draft will not be saved until it is committed back to the original instance. Therefore, it is important to save any changes made to the draft before committing them back to the original instance.
