  • Component Name: Change & Transport System

  • Description: An area to which objects in a request or task belong. The following request categories exist: CUST - Client-specific Customizing. This category contains client-specific Customizing objects from the source client. SYST - Repository and Customizing for all clients. This category contains Repository objects and Customizing objects for all clients. This category can also contain client-specific Customizing objects since it allows combinations of objects.

  • Key Concepts: Request category is a feature of the SAP Change & Transport System (CTS) that allows users to group transport requests into categories. This helps to organize and manage transport requests more efficiently. Request categories are used to classify transport requests according to their purpose, such as development, testing, or production.
    How to use it: To create a request category, go to the CTS menu and select “Create Request Category”. Enter a name for the request category and select the type of transport request it will contain. You can also assign a priority level to the request category. Once you have created the request category, you can assign transport requests to it.
    Tips & Tricks: It is important to assign transport requests to the correct request category in order for them to be processed correctly. It is also important to keep track of which request categories contain which transport requests in order to ensure that they are processed in the correct order.
