SAP Term: delivery lock

Smart SAP Assistant

  • Key Concepts:
Delivery lock is a feature of the SAP Change and Transport System (CTS) that prevents changes from being transported to other systems until they have been released. This ensures that only approved changes are transported and that the system remains consistent across all environments.

    How to use it:
To use delivery lock, you must first enable it in the CTS configuration. Once enabled, any changes made to an object will be locked until they are released. To release a change, you must use the CTS Release function. This will unlock the change and allow it to be transported to other systems.

    Tips & Tricks:
It is important to remember that delivery lock does not prevent changes from being made, only from being transported. Therefore, it is important to ensure that all changes are reviewed and approved before they are released.
