What is user time zone in SAP BC-ABA - ABAP Runtime Environment?

SAP Term: user time zone

Smart SAP Assistant

  • Key Concepts: User time zone is a feature of the SAP system that allows users to set their own time zone. This allows users to view and work with data in their own local time, rather than the system's default time zone. The user time zone is stored in the user master record and is used to convert date and time values from the system's default time zone to the user's local time.
How to use it: To set a user's time zone, go to the user master record in the SAP system. Under the Time Zone tab, select the appropriate time zone from the drop-down list. Once selected, this will be used as the user's default time zone for all activities within the SAP system.
Tips & Tricks: It is important to note that setting a user's time zone does not affect any existing data in the system. It only affects how data is displayed to the user. For example, if a user sets their time zone to Pacific Standard Time (PST), all dates and times will be displayed in PST, even if they were originally entered in Eastern Standard Time (EST).
Related Information: The user time zone feature is part of the BC-ABA ABAP Runtime Environment component of SAP. This component provides a range of features for managing and manipulating date and time
