  • Key Concepts:
Parental Leave is a type of leave available to employees in SAP's Human Capital Management (HCM) Personnel Administration (PA) component. It allows employees to take time off from work to care for a newborn or newly adopted child. This leave is typically unpaid, but some employers may offer paid parental leave.

    How to use it:
In SAP HCM PA, Parental Leave can be requested and approved by the employee's manager. The employee must provide documentation of the birth or adoption of the child in order to be eligible for the leave. Once approved, the employee will be able to take the leave for a specified period of time.

    Tips & Tricks:
It is important to note that Parental Leave is not the same as maternity or paternity leave. Maternity and paternity leave are typically longer and are intended for the mother and father of the child, respectively. Parental Leave is intended for either parent and can be taken by either parent.
