    SAP Error Message:
WXP659: Distribution center &1 is not maintained as a plant

    Cause:

This error occurs when a distribution center (DC) is referenced in a process or transaction, but the system does not recognize this distribution center as a valid plant in the system. In SAP, distribution centers must be defined and maintained as plants in the system to be used in logistics processes such as shipping, inventory management, or warehouse management.

    Typically, this happens when:

    • The distribution center number entered is not assigned as a plant in the system.
    • The distribution center is missing in the plant master data.
    • The configuration or master data setup for the distribution center as a plant is incomplete or incorrect.

    Solution:

To resolve this error, you need to ensure that the distribution center is properly maintained as a plant in SAP.

    Steps to fix:

    1. Check if the distribution center exists as a plant:

      • Go to transaction OX10 (Define Plants).
      • Verify if the distribution center number (&1) is listed as a plant.
    2. If the distribution center is not maintained as a plant:

      • Create a new plant for the distribution center in OX10.
      • Assign the plant to the appropriate company code and sales organization if necessary.
    3. Check Plant Master Data:

      • Use transaction MM03 or SPRO to verify the plant master data.
      • Ensure all relevant data (address, storage location, etc.) is maintained.
    4. Check Distribution Chain Configuration:

      • In case of Sales and Distribution (SD) or Warehouse Management (WM), verify the distribution chain setup.
      • Use transaction SPRO ? Logistics Execution ? Shipping ? Basic Shipping Functions ? Define Shipping Points and Goods Receiving Points.
      • Ensure the distribution center is correctly linked.
    5. Check Customizing for Warehouse Management:

      • If WM is involved, check if the warehouse number is assigned to the plant.
      • Use transaction SPRO ? Logistics Execution ? Warehouse Management ? Master Data ? Assign Warehouse Number to Plant.
    6. Transport and Authorizations:

      • After making changes, ensure they are transported to the relevant system.
      • Verify user authorizations to access and use the plant.
