SAP Error Message: WXP568 Create RFC destination &1

    1. Cause

The message WXP568 typically appears when the SAP system requires an RFC (Remote Function Call) destination to be created or configured, but it does not exist yet. The placeholder &1 in the message is replaced by the name of the RFC destination that needs to be created.

This situation often arises in the context of SAP Web Dispatcher, SAP Gateway, or when setting up communication between SAP systems or between SAP and external systems. The system is trying to call or use an RFC destination that has not been defined in transaction SM59.

    2. Meaning of the Message

    • WXP568: This is a warning or information message indicating that the RFC destination named &1 does not exist and must be created.
    • The system cannot proceed with the remote call or communication until the RFC destination is properly set up.

    3. Solution

    To resolve the error:

    1. Identify the RFC destination name from the message (the value of &1).

    2. Create the RFC destination in transaction SM59:

      • Go to transaction SM59.
      • Choose the appropriate RFC destination type (e.g., 3 for ABAP connection, T for TCP/IP connection, etc.).
      • Click Create and enter the RFC destination name as indicated in the error message.
      • Fill in the required connection parameters such as target host, system number, user credentials, etc.
      • Test the connection to ensure it is working properly.
    3. Check the configuration of the system or application that requires this RFC destination to ensure it points to the correct destination.

    4. If the RFC destination should already exist, verify that it has not been deleted or renamed accidentally.

    4. Additional Related Information

    • Transaction SM59: This is the central place to create and maintain RFC destinations in SAP.
    • RFC Destinations: They define the communication parameters for remote calls between SAP systems or between SAP and external systems.
    • Common scenarios where this error occurs:
      • Setting up SAP Web Dispatcher or SAP Gateway.
      • Configuring SAP PI/PO or other middleware.
      • Cross-system communication in SAP landscapes.
    • Authorization: Ensure you have the necessary authorization to create or modify RFC destinations.
    • Testing: Always test the RFC destination after creation to confirm connectivity.

    • Create a new RFC destination named XYZ_DEST.
    • Configure it with the correct parameters.
    • Test the connection.
